| Yes, it's in there. If you backup it, you will have a backup for the package name "com.android.providers.telephony" in your TitaniumBackup directory on the sd card. That backup contains your "mmssms.db" file, which is a database containing your SMS and MMS messages.

lag ich mit der com.android.providers.telephony schon mal gar nicht so daneben. Ich ziehe nachher mal ein aktuelles
Backup und schaue mit einem Editor, ob die neuen SMS enthalten sind.
Aber so oder so scheint es angeraten zu sein, die SMS noch einmal gesondert, mit einem anderen Tool, zu sichern.
