This is a digital version of the good old battleship (wiki) game.
The aim of the game is simple: destroy all ships of your enemy, before they destroy yours.
The first screen of the game, is the logbook. Here you can see your rank, scores, battle statistics and earned insignia. You can create additional profiles for your siblings or friends and switch between them.
In the "config" menu you can tune the game. Choose between "normal" and "easy" difficulty levels. In easy mode, all ship squadrons grow by one additional ship, so they are easier to find. Note: only 75% of the scores earned in an easy game will be added to your profile. In the config menu you can also enable or disable near markers. Near markers are explained in battle-screen section.
From your logbook you can start a single-user game, by pressing the "campaign" button. Or you can duel your friends on WiFi network by entering the multiplayer mode by pressing the "duel" button.
The battle screen has two big areas: a square grid of 10 x 10 cells, where the ship squadrons are located; and a console at the bottom, with status displays and control elements.
You can see one of two grids, dependent on current game state. Your grid (bluish) is shown if it is your opponent's turn. Here, you can see which cells your opponent is attacking and which of your ships are wounded or completely destroyed. The opponent gird (reddish) is shown if it's your turn. On this grid, you can see the wounded and destroyed ships of your opponent. Here, you also choose a cell you want to attack. Destroyed ships are colored gray.
There are ten ship squadrons. In normal mode, the squadrons have these sizes:
There are two markers you can see on the grid beneath the ship symbols.
The "miss" mark is set if an empty cell was shot.
The "near" mark
is set around a ship squadron, if it was completely destroyed.
Disabling the near mark increases earned scores by 10%.
During your turn you can select a free cell to make your next shoot.
If the direct-shoot mode is activated (check the submenu) your armada will fire immediately.
Otherwise the target marker will be shown, and you can either choose an other field or confirm by touching the "fire" area in the console.
The console at the bottom of the battle screen has different info areas and some interactive elements.
In this screen you can place your ships. The place screen looks mostly like the battle screen, but with different controls in the console.
You can rotate a ship on the grid by a single tap on it. You can grab a ship by performing a press and hold on it and then moving it to a new location.
When the placement is satisfactory, then touch the "go" area to start the game.
You start your career as a cadet. In each game you earn points that will be added to your profile scores. If you reach a certain score level, your rank will be raised. There are eight ranks. The maximal rank is space-admiral.
A simple ship hit brings 20 points. In addition, you can earn insignia for special hit combinations, bringing you extra bonus points. The own survivor ships are honored with +10pt per heal-ships extra.
There are four different insignia you can earn (left to right):
The most fun in this game is of course the duel mode: playing against your friends. To do so, connect your androids to the same WiFi network and enter the "duel" mode. In the connection screen one of you should then press the "manual connect" button and enter the IP of your friend.
Have a lot of fun!
