New P9516 firmware on ftp server?

Hallo,
I've seen that a firmware "update" dated from 10/09/2012 is available on the lenovo ftp server.
The file for CH is named MD_LIFETAB_P9516_21_23_120910_M_CH.zip
However in the accompanying xml file there is no trace of a CH version.
When I check for an update in my tablet it replies that the system is up to date.
By any chance is that update available to someone?
DEN and DES versions are also available on the ftp server
It looks like a minor update that, among others, adresses the Wifi issue which is interesting for my tablet !

I suppose that they are doing some tests, as the file is located in the directory OTA_TEST and is not yet in OTA.

It´s in the directory "ota_test" since a couple of days. I think it would be officially released when the tests are finished and when the files are copied into the directory "ota". Equally it would then be found, probably automatically, by the update function of the P9516.

This is a minor update to Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS). It addresses the following issues:

- Some devices would not wake up again when WLAN was set to turn off during stand-by.
- Enhancements to Dolby Mobile effect settings.
- Addition of Google Play Books.
- Update of LIFETAB Media.
- Several smaller fixes and improvements.

Hi,
can you please give me a link to this firmware?
I managed to lock my lifetab because I lost my google account password.
Now I´m stuck with the log-on screen. Reseting the password and creating a new one from the pc doesn´t solve my problem, as my tablet wasn´t initially configured properly to connect to the internet and the tablet keeps asking me for the old password without internet connection.
Reflashing may be the only solution I guess. Or does anybody have a better idea?

Hallo, du kannst mir bitte einen Link zu dieser Firmware? Es gelang mir LifeTab sperren, weil ich mein Google-Konto Passwort verloren. Jetzt bin ich mit dem Log-on-Bildschirm fest. Zurücksetzen des Passworts und die Schaffung einer neuen aus dem pc nicht mein Problem lösen, wie mein Tablett nicht ursprünglich richtig mit dem Internet verbinden konfiguriert und die Tablette fragt mich immer für das alte Passwort, ohne Internet-Verbindung. Flasht kann die einzige Lösung, die ich schätze sein. Oder hat jemand eine bessere Idee? Thanks.

flashen geht mit dem p9516 (noch) nicht.
Wenn du dein Tablet gerootet hast, und mit adb drankommst, gibt es eine Lösung.
Dann muss man aber sqlite benutzen.

danke für die Infos. Ich bin leider nicht dazu gekommen den Tablet zu rooten. Warum kann man den Lifetab noch nicht flashen? Keine passende Software?
Wie ist es mit der Software von Lenovo für IdeaPad k1? Sind doch die gleiche Tablets, nur verschiedene Marken, oder?
Ich kenne leider die Tastenkombination nicht um ins Bootloader menu zu gelangen. Und auch wenn ich die wüßte, weiß ich immer noch nicht ob ich von dort den Tablet reseten kann.
Hat irgendjemand eine Ahnung wie ich vorgehen soll?

Habe auf Lenovo site einige Firmware für den Medion LifeTab gefunden: Index of /124795/slates/k1/OTA . Unter anderen auch für mein Tab. Hat irgendjemand eine Ahnung wie ich vorgehen soll?

Hi andro_ricky,

zwischenzeitlich ist es uns gelungen, das P9516 zu flashen.
Und ja, man kann ein K1 Image flashen. Ich habe jetzt JB laufen.
Aber nein, das scheint (noch) nicht per download-unzip-doppelklick zu gehen.

Auf avi-plus (siehe auch meinen Post "Unterstützung gesucht") gibt es eine Möglichkeit per flash in's recovery zu booten.
Vorher solltest du aber deine Partitionstabelle auslesen, auf avi-plus posten, und mit meiner vergleichen.
Dann noch ein backup per nvflash machen, und dann loslegen.
Um das Stock-recovery bedienen zu können brauchst du eine externe Tastatur.
Ist alles auf avi-plus beschrieben.
