NOTE: the new kernel in this port only works on 32B devices.


Cyanogen has indicated he will make a formal supported port; but until then:

Here is a clean port for CM6.1 to the new radio (include CM kernel not  my own, but if you wish to try mine get after install my 2708 anykernel  will work)

You will have an option of two kernels one is the port of the CM6.1  shipped kernel; one is the port of the 251 nightly;  the latter will  hopefully help with any "green" issues some users are experiencing.   (Both work without incident on my phone so I can't really help you debug  it)

Installation is simple:

1) Download update-cm-6.1.0-DS-2708port_S.zip
MD5: adf254aba8227849f588ac9cb30ba412
2) Download GAPPS tiny
3) Push both files onto the root of your SD card
4) If you do not already have radio 2.22.27.08 or 2.22.28.25 and HBOOT 1.33.0013 or 1.33.0013d installed see This post on XDA (return here when it asks you to install a rom)
5) Wipe if needed
6) Flash update-cm-6.1.0-DS-2708port_S.zip
6.a) Answer "Yes" for the CM6.1 kernel when prompted (No for the 251 nightly)
7) Flash GAPPS
8) reboot and enjoy the rom.

Update.zip:

This is a kanged update.zip.. I just replaced the kernels and modules  with the ported ones.. and added in my yes/no binary and updated the  updater.zip to allow for the choice.

Help it won't boot

Ok..

First if you have a MT3G/HTC Magic/other sapphire phone:  Hold vol down  and power on your phone.. If you see 32a in the information at the top  of the screen you are installing the wrong version of the rom... please  move along.

Second if you know how and think you wiped correctly run 'fastboot erase system' then reflash

Third for a cleaner install but to leave sdext alone try 'fastboot erase system -w' then reflash

An alternative to the above may be the clockwork format partitions.

Last before asking us, Try Super Wipe and re-flash.

Now if its still not booting correctly.. super wipe again.. reflash but  this time just after rebooting start a logcat on your computer.  Wait  for it to loop 2 or 3 time, cancel the log cat and paste all of it into  pastebin.. give the link to that pastebin post with a description of  what happened.. only with all of this done can we help you with a non  FAQ answer
