04/09 2.0 - the MoDaCo custom ROM is here (2 versions based on the 'new update')! I'm pleased to present version 2 of my MoDaCo Custom Hero ROM! No 'wipe' is required for anyone coming from MCR 1.2 onwards, or the stock 2.73.x updates.

This ROM is based on the Generic 2.73.405.5 release version of the 'new update' (together with my own optimisations) for the best possible performance! The ROM is now available in 2 versions - 'core' and 'enhanced' by popular request.

Included in both 'core' and 'enhanced' versions

- Rooted with 'adb remount' permission and superuser APK
- A2SD included (fully automatic - thanks cyanogen!) - create a EXT3 partition as your second partition to use. dalvik-cache remains on device. EXT4 is NOT supported.
- Added Jbed Java
- Added Spare Parts (run it and switch the 2 animation types to 'fast' for an even better experience!)
- Added Custom Locale for setting non english Locales
- Added android-wifi-tether 1.52 (props to the developer, this is a great app!)
- Added WMSM
- Added busybox 1.15 - tweaked such that 'get information' in Swapper now works as desired
- Added nano 2.09 - text editor for use in shell mode
- Added terminfo and settings to boot.img to allow nano etc. use
- Added tun.ko file (untested, please report on whether this is useful)
- Added files required for Debian linux [edit: this seems to be broken for some reason, investigating!]
- Moved Quickoffice to data partition to allow easy uninstall
- Deleted 'Learn More' application
- Deleted Maps application - install from the Android Market to always stay up to date
- ROM now includes touch focus in Camera app
- ROM now supports shortcuts using BetterCut (and therefore I assume anycut!) in Rosie
- Silenced boot sound (it's still there and can be reactivated with a file edit)
- You can now check your MoDaCo Custom ROM (MCR) version from the about menu. It will display MCR2.0 (core) or MCR2.0e (enhanced).

- Added Business Card Scanner
- Added 'Plurk' client
- Added WAP browser
- Added Chinese IME
- Restored Maps app (for users who cannot install it from the Market)

Restored bootscreen (no sound)
Restored customize directory, this will give only standard WWE build locales - use Custom Locale for others, or 'adb shell remount' then 'adb shell rm -rf /system/customize' then wipe for full menu
Split features into 'core' and 'enhanced' versions

Ok, danke für die Infos...Etwas hab ich dann auch gestern noch gefunden, was den größten Teil erklärt hat...

Aber wie ist es den mit dem GUI, das ist/bleibt auch deutsch, oder?
Und das Wörterbuch (Bspw. beim SMS schreiben) das bleibt auch deutsch, oder?

Und was sich mir auch noch nicht ganz erschlossen hat ist, was nun mit dem Market ist wenn man Root ist....(ich hab das doch richtig verstanden das ich erst Rooten muss und dann das CR flashen kann, oder)

Es gibt ja diesem MarketEnabler hab ich gesehen...aber wieso und wofür genau und was eigentlich genau das Problem ist hab ich nicht gefunden...außer das der Market in der Schweiz wohl keine kostenpfl. Aps zeigt oder so...

Ich hoffe das ich euch nicht schon zu sehr nerve...Aber so langsam versteh ich ja auch etwas ;-)

(PS.: Wenn sich jemand aufopferungsvoll bereiterklärt könnte man das ja auch einfach ma kurz bei Skype oder TS besprechen...ginge vllt. etwas schneller *G*)

Fetzt, danke für den Hinweis an Kino Joe. Hatte ganz vergessen da nachzusehen heute vormittag *g* Gerade eingespielt und jetzt kann ich eins sagen: FETZZZZT! Also bei der 1.5 von der Version hatte ich nicht so den Geschwindigkeitsvorteil bemerkt (oder es lief was falsch, was ich bei dem Chaos -siehe oben- nich ausschliessen will...), aber das Ding ist echt Performance pur. :-) So muss das!

so, bei mir läuft die MCR 2.0. Absolut hervorragend! Schnell, flüssig, genial! Dazu hat das Radio update eine ganze Menge gebracht. Wlan ist jetzt schon verbunden bevor ich überhaupt den Pin-Code eingegeben habe, wahnsinn!

@Da_Tiga ... Deutsch ist auch nach dem update noch vorhanden. Keine sorge Market enabler brauchst du auch nicht. Läuft mit dem CustomRom und root auch hervorrgand - paidApps werden auch angezeigt.

bekomme ich auch mein bereits bezahltes und installiertes CopilotLive wieder drauf, ohne es nochmal kaufen zu müssen?
Wie mach ich das dann?

Wie immer bekommt man alle bezahlten apps wieder problemlos drauf.

so, nach ein paar Stunden ein kurzes fazit: Eigenltich läuft alles super, allerdings ist das 2.0 Rom nicht ganz so flüssig wie die vorherigen. Seltsam ...

Ja das empfinden hab ich auch aber ich denke das es nur ne frage von stunden is :-) bis mister Paul nen update zaubert

Aber schneller als das Original ist es schon,oder?
Ist eigentlich auch was mit dem Bluetooth passiert?

Und wie geht das mit den paid aps? Erkennt mich der market und sagt wie bei den free einfach nur download statt kauf?
