MIUI ROM Preview 2.11.2 changelog (Week 113)



The MIUI team are continuing focus on improvement to performance and stability whilst still giving attention to new and useful features.

This weeks recommended updates are:

1. New SMS "change number" function
If a friend changes phone numbers you can now directly add the number via messaging to cut out many steps of editing and adding a new phone number.

2. New camera real-time effects filters
You can now turn your photos into mosasics or sketch on top of photos to make them more fun and friendly or even just to make a joke from.

3. Autocorrection function to fix (ID3) details
New function to allow you to clean up any ID3 information which is either incomplete or missing. Use the internet to automatically calibrate songs ID3 information such as Song title, Artist name, Album information and other details.

4. Significant improvements to the performance and loading of contact list, group pages and also MMS session loading time.

Added a new menu key to quickly select to send a message to a number within a received SMS message
Optimisation to significantly enhance the loading speed of the MMS session list
Fix issues searching SMS in some cases
Fix, app may delete SMS reply(s)
Fix, when replying from the message popup window, sending may be unsuccessful

[Lock screen, status bar and notification bar]
Add variety lock screen framework support to all elements (including group elements) to allow 3D rotation and scaling
New notification bar spam blocker
Fix Variety lock screen framework, in certain circumstances, due to some elements inconsistencies may cause the screen to flicker

[Desktop]
Optimise 4x4 and 4x5 layout switching logic
Optimise large font mode global search interface layout
Optimise default order of items when adding a new item to the folder
Fix some cases the 4x5 desktop layout results in duplicated icons
Fix in some cases, text cannot be displayed "grid layout type" under launcher settings

[Themes]
New premium "purchasable" themes (via MiCredits, Please note: this feature only works within China at the moment)
Optimise wallpaper details page setting display size, based on user browsing habits

[Camera]
New real-time camera filters such as; "mosaic" and "sketch" effects

[Gallery]
Optimise zoom experience when enlarging photos
Fix in some cases the gallery will not open due to upgrade problems
Fix dislocation issue unlocking if an enlarged picture is used
Fix problems opening the gallery, photos will not display when an access password is set

[Music]
New, automatic ID3 information correction function

[Initial Set up]
Optimisation, data roaming is now set to "off" as default

[File Explorer]
Fix, when opening MiDrive and pressing the "Back" button leads to FC error

[Anti-disturb / DND]
Fix adding contacts to blacklist, import text messages and phone records may be deleted

[Notes]
Fix in some cases pictures cannot be displayed

[Alarm Clock]
Fix shutdown alarm notification bar switch shortcut​

Schönen guten Abend…
Sicherlich warten seit einigen Stunden schon einige von euch auf die neuste Version von MIUI. Leider müssen Wir euch mitteilen, das es diese Woche keine Version von MIUI in deutsch anbieten werden. Dies wurde so entschieden, da wir massive Probleme in der aktuellsten Version haben und wir euch die neuste Version nicht unter die Nase reiben möchten.

Aufgrund von Änderungen am Theme Manager seitens Xiaomi, werden die wöchentlichen ROMs bis auf weiteres aus Protest ausgesetzt. Diese Änderungen machen es unmöglich Themes zu nutzen, die nicht aus dem MIUI Theme Manager geladen wurden. Benutzern ausserhalb von China ist es nicht möglich, ihre Themes in den Theme Manager zu laden. Daher ist eine Modifikation / Übersetzung von Themes und das hochladen in den MIUI Theme Manager nicht mehr möglich. Zudem wurden Themes eingeführt, für die man Mi-Credits bezahlen muss. Benutzer ausserhalb von China kommen nicht an diese Mi-Credits ran. Wer ein Theme benutzen möchte, welches nicht aus dem MIUI Theme Manager stammt und das Update auf 2.11.2 durchführt, wird in einem Boot Loop landen. Diese Änderungen sollen die Ersteller von MIUI Themes schützen und sie gleichzeitig in ein neues Bezahlsystem zu führen, wo wir alle ausserhalb von China ausgeschlossen sind.

Durch diese und weitere Anpassungen in dem chinesischen ROM, werden Uns zunehmend die Hände gebunden, so dass wir mit den aktuellen Versionen von MIUI immer weiter ausgegrenzt werden. Dieses Problem betrifft derzeit alle MIUI Fanseiten.

Wer sich selber in dieses Thema mit einbringen möchte und seinem Unmut über diese fortlaufenden Änderungen preisgeben möchte, kann sich im englischen MIUI Forum einfinden und es dort den Entwicklern und Administratoren mitteilen. Evtl. reagiert MIUI auf diesen nicht zumutbaren Zustand und ändert diese Dinge in Zukunft. Wir alleine als Fanseite, können nicht viel machen gegen diese massiven Änderungen bei MIUI. Da es zu grossen Problemen führen wird mit dieser neuen MIUI Version, haben wir uns bei MIUI-Germany dazu entschieden, keine neuen MIUI Versionen vorerst zu veröffentlichen. Da diese nur Probleme derzeit mit sich bringen und wir nicht die Möglichkeiten haben euch mit einer wirklich gut funktionierenden Version zu versorgen, stellen wir derzeit die Veröffentlichungen von MIUI Versionen ein.
Bis wir neue Informationen zu diesen Änderungen im MIUI ROM erhalten, werden Wir keine neuen MIUI Versionen in deutsch erstellen.

Dear MIUI users,

Today marks the first 45 weeks of 2012! the year is now coming to a close but the team is still working hard to optimise and improve MIUI.

This weeks recommended updates include:

Messaging application improvements
This week the team have given some focus to optimisation of SMS and MMS functions. Fixes to some synchronisation issues with MMS and improvements to sync performance of SMS messages from the Internet to your device(s).

Browser UI improvements
This weeks update brings improvements to the browsers home page bookmarks and general navigation. The new navigation is more convenient to use and brings a modern look to the UI.

Gallery
Optimised support for viewing larger GIF images and in some cases fix cropping of pictures failed to crop successfully

Bei der Multilang Version von Miuiandroid.com ist doch auch Deutsch dabei, richtig...?!
Leider ist vieles bei mir noch Englisch: SMS-APP, einige Einstellungen, teilweise der Lockscreen. Ist das richtig so....? Oder habe ich einen Fehler beim Flashen gemacht? Sieht doof aus, so viel Englisch zum Deutsch.

      • Fix problem restoring MMS from backup, MMS does not show thumbnails
      • Fix SMS network group sending function, only the first contact be sent the message
      • Fix bulk SMS message bar prompt does not display correct information
[Desktop]

      • Fix large font mode, the icon sizes become inconsistent
      • Fix in some cases, dragging items is unresponsive
      • Fix in some cases, resetting the desktop layout will cause ordering to be lost
[Themes]

      • Optimise local theme list order
      • Optimise theme thumbnail preview image download speeds
      • Fix with some resources, Mix (Mashups) result in failure when attempting to apply
      • Fix importing resources from SD card MIUI/Theme directory performance and response issues
      • Fix memory leak issues leading to FC errors
      • Fix in some cases the theme import progress bar becomes stuck
      • Fix local theme list when updated displays repeated resources
[Camera]

      • New front camera auto focus / metering functions
      • Fix in some cases using Contacts app and then entering camera causes FC error
      • Fix problem after shooting panoramic photos, clicking Preview leads to FC error

[Gallery]

      • Optimise larger file size .GIF playback support
      • A dimorphic effect to optimise clicking on "More Pictures" and "Albums" from the home screen
      • Fix in some cases editing pictures, such as cropping or rotation does not take effect
      • Fix in some cases due to upgrade the gallery will not open after update
      • Fix problem when tapping to zoom an image causes an unwanted ripple style effect

[Browser]

      • New layout of browser home page bookmarks and navigation
      • Fix problem playing .m3u8 online videos, only audio is played back

    • Fix problem registering Xiaomi account, server verification issues resulted in unsuccessful registration

1. Desktop shortcut toggle (switches)

The notification bar shortcut toggles (switches) are one of the popular features in MIUI ROM and now you can place them on your desktop for quick switching to apps or other functions.

Open Desktop editing mode by long-pressing screen or select menu and edit widgets. Then select menu followed by the 'Add' option. Select Toggle and you can then choose which shortcut toggles to add to your homescreen(s).

2. New Dolby Equaliser (With supported devices only)

Now you can take full control of how you listen to your favourite tracks, TV shows or movies. You can set surround sound mode (using headphones) or select from a range of preset equalizer settings such as Rock, Pop, Dance, Jungle or RnB.

Open Settings > Sound > Dolby Mobile Control > Dolby Effects to see more!

3. Mobile Data Traffic usage
You can now set the data traffic limit yourself. The option of the Chinese operators has been taken away to allow international users to make better use of the function.

Full list of updates will be published on Friday as usual. The MIUI team are working hard through the winter weeks to bring a better MIUI experience to all users. Stay tuned for Fridays changelog.

Bad news or great news @miuirom Why is it you guys want more fan sites and international followers when you have neglected to inform developers that your new installd binary limits port developers to creating MIUI ports for non-official devices.

It seems you guys are creating a walled garden OS like Apple. Over the last few months you guys have dropped the ball on the ROM and quality seems to be replaced with ideas of monetizing the ROM. You are probably aware of an Open Source effort to re-make MIUI Framework as people are growing tired of the lack of support for International users. Oppo finder is another prime example of issues. No aapt source from you or Oppo China. CC: @MiuiPt @miuifrance @miuiger @MiuiPt @miui_ita @miui_germany @miuibr @MIUISuisse @miuius

After this message miui.us starting with open miui. The next is my last MIUI on China project. I support new open project and hope that Polimorph and Hoschi will make similar choose.

Liebe MIUI-Germany Community,
hiermit verkünden wir, dass wir ab sofort den wöchentlichen Release-Rhythmus nicht mehr beibehalten werden. Aufgrund interner Umstrukturierungen, werden wir neue Versionen nun im 4-Wochen Rhythmus veröffentlichen.
Sofern neue Geräte von MIUI-China veröffentlicht werden, werden wir natürlich versuchen, diese auch zu veröffentlichen, fernab des 4-Wochen Rhythmus. Das gleiche zählt auch für wichtige Updates/Upgrades. Dort werden wir euch natürlich nicht im Stich lassen.
