Point Of View Mobii ProTab 2 IPS (!) Firmware-Update

Hallo Community!

Ich wollte mal fragen ob hier jemand das "Point Of View Mobii ProTab 2 IPS" hat (nicht das ProTab 2 XXL !!!).

POV bietet eine neue Android 4 Firmware an.
Ich komme mit der Anleitung http://downloads.pointofview-online... upgrade Mobii 9.7 Inch ProTab2-IPS9 V1.1.pdf
nicht weiter.

2 Probleme:

1. Mit der Tastenkombination, laut Anleitung, komme ich, wenn überhaupt, bei gedrückter Tastenkombination, nur in den Recovery-Mode, jedoch nicht in den Update-Mode. Dieser blinkt zu Beginn nur ganz kurz auf, bevor es in den Recovery-Mode geht.

2. Der beigelegte USB-Treiber im Package, lässt sich im Gerätemanager nicht benutzen zum Installieren des Tablets, es heißt lediglich falscher Treiber.

Jetzt meine Frage, wer hat das Update (Intern: 4.001 --> 4.005) schon durchgeführt und kann mir helfen?

I could make the firmware update as wirtten in the
pdf file. You should press the key combination with
the reset button. The device turns on before you
finish the key combination. But you should not stop.
You should press the power button 5 times after
pressing the reset button even if the device turns on.

The driver is correct. But you can install it after
the device goes to update mode with the key
combination above.

I had a problem with the device even after the
firmware update. It was going to factory reset
when its battery finishes. Do you have such a
problem?

I try both combinations, with the reset button and without.

Ok, I will check all details:
The reset button is under the Volume- (V-) button into the small hole?

I connect the charger and the USB cable (to the PC) to my tablet.
I turn my tablet off, wait a few seconds.

So the important part:
I press the power button and Volume – (V-) button simultainiously on the tablet for a few seconds.
After the POV logo turns on, I hold the two buttons and press also the reset button.
I release the reset button and then I release and press the power button for 5 times.
After this I press the power and V- button again and wait.

I can see the update mode for a second, the it switchs to the recovery mode (the android with the red "!")!

What do I do wrong? I hope you can help me!

I only have the firmware with the build nr. 4.001 and I don't have such a problem.
I will tell you when I get the same problem, after I could finally update the tablet. Do you have tried a factory reset on the recovery mode and observe your tablet after your factory reset?

Since I returned my product as defective I cannot try
the key combination again. I don't remember the screen
after the key combination but you should see the "Unknown
Device" with "!" mark in device manager if you can do it.
Then you can install the driver and make the update.

Try not releasing the reset button when pressing power
button 5 times (I am not sure about this). Or you can
try being more quick for pressing all the buttons. I
also could not do it in the first trials.

Factory reset did not solve my problem. I returned it
for warranty and waiting for their reply.

Another problem was that some Android applications were
missing like gtalk and gallery. There were no way to
install them. Please tell me if you can install these applications.

Ok, I finally get it!!!

I tried it with my second mobile computer.
It was a little bit strange, because after I pressed the combination (I think it was the combination without the reset button) the display of the tablet was off, but the battery LED was green!

Then I can install the USB driver and LiveSuit can recognize my tablet.

But LiveSuit had does a complete factory reset with my tablet. That's not so bad for me, because I got a complete backup.

I will look for your apps. I know that I can't install the Google Mail app, but I download the app manually as an APK-file and after the installation it works!

You can try to get your apps manually. Search with google for the apps as an apk-file.

or


1x mini USB and 1x mini HDMI


whats correct ?

from the pictures i would say: mini usb and mini hdmi! but the offical site says 2x micro usb ... wtf? please confirm whats right...

already made some orders for adapters ^^

it's 1x mini USB and 1x mini HDMI.
In the Box is an adapter for mini USB to a normal USB port.

definitly mini usb, but wasnt sure about the hdmi port.. but now i know what to order

ich hab genau das selbe Problem wie der Threadstarter, ich komme nicht in den Update-Mode und kann auch den USB-Treiber nicht installieren.

Keine Chance, hab schon 2 Rechner probiert.

Im zweiten Anlauf hats bei mir mit der Powerbutton + Volume Kombi funktioniert (einfach ganz oft ganz schnell gedrückt)


Das WLAN Signal ist dadurch etwas stärker geworden (oder durch Umstellung von b/g auf b/g/n im Router..)

Jedoch ist die Signalstärke immer noch unter aller Sau ... ca 4 Meter vom Router entfernt ist grad noch ein klein bisschen Signal.. Seitenaufbau im Browser dauert gefühlt ewig.. youtube noch schlimmer natürlich.. Speedtest: 0,4 mbit/s

Direkt neben den Router gehalten 5 mbit/s . Liegt das an meinem Modell oder könnt ihr das bestätigen ?

directly next to router i get 5mbit/s but only 4m away only 0,4 mbit/s are left.. 5m away -> no connection.

my smartphone has a much better wifi signal (10mbit/s 4m away.)

is it just my tablet or do you experience similiar problems?

Das kann doch nicht sein .... hab schon alle möglichkeiten durchgespielt. Es ist genau wie beim Threadstarter, ich komme nur in den Recovery Mode. Der Update Mode ist ganz kurz sichtbar, verschwindet aber gleich wieder. Ich hab das Tablet jetzt schon mindestens 100x neu gestartet. Bin schier am verzweifeln....

@Schlammi: Mir gings genauso wie dir, ich hab damit ganze 2 Abende damit verbracht.

Also auf Deutsch:
Bei mir wurde der Bildschirm nach der Tastenkombination (und glaube längerem Drücken) schwarz, also das Display ging komplett aus!!! Die Lade-LED war danach grün.
Danach erkannte mein 2. Laptop den veränderten Anschlussmodus und ich konnte die Treiber installieren und LiveSuit erkannte mein Tablet.


Zum WLan-Empfang:
Der wurde bei mir selbst mit dem Update nicht nicht besser, bei den Übertragungsraten sind mehr als 5-8Mbit auch bei mir nicht zu erreichen, aber das reicht doch völlig!

Browser - Surfen:
Ich habe mehrere Browser bei mir ausprobiert auf dem Tablet und ich kann sagen, dass fast jeder Fremd-Browser schneller ist, als der interne.
Beste Erfahrungen habe ich bis jetzt mit "Mozilla Firefox Beta" gemacht.

Zusätzlich:
Ich hoffe das noch ein weiteres Update rauskommt, denn die Performance wurde mit dem 1. Update schon wesentlich besser.
Da die Hardware genügend Leistung bietet, sollte da noch Optimierungspotenzial gegeben sein.
Bestes Beispiel war GTA3. Vor dem Update ruckelte es fast bei jeder Einstellung, nach dem Update lief es ruckelfrei.

Also du hast das Tablet mit dem mitgelieferten Mini USB-Kabel am Rechner angeschlossen, und mit mit Tastenkombi (Start und Lautstärke -) gestartet!? Du hast die Tastenkombi so lange gehalten, bis der Bildschirm ausging und ein grünes LED anging. Dann hast du die Start-Taste 5x gedrückt oder!?

Klar wären 5-8 mbit/s mehr als ausreichend.. aber leider habe ich ja in ca. 4 Meter Entfernung zum Router (Couch, Bett, oder in der Uni an den meisten STellen) nurnoch 0,2-0,4 mbit/s ! und das ist dann schon relativ langsam! Ob ich da wohl nen Montagsprodukt erwischt habe?

//EDIT: neues Update v4.008 (leider wie immer nirgends ne Art Changelog.. also mein Wifi ist immer noch quasi unbrauchbar..)

Also ich habe gerade das Update auf 4.008 durchgeführt.
Es gibt 2 Versionen, falls nach dem Update der Touchscreen nicht funktioniert 4.008 V1.1 benutzen.

Also ich habe jetzt mal genau darauf geachtet.
- Halte Power und Volume- gedrückt, ca. 3 Sekunden.
- Drücke dann 6 (evtl. nur 5) mal Power und halte nach dem 6. Mal Power gedrückt!
Wärenddessen Volume- immer gedrückt halten.

Dies geschieht alles bevor das runde POV Logo erscheint!
Als Tipp unter Win7 getestet:
Lass den Gerätemanager offen! Wenn es geklappt hat, erscheint "Unbekanntes Gerät", dann kannst du nach Anleitung den Treiber installieren.
Ach und ich weiß nicht ob es eine Rolle spielt, ich glaube nicht, also ich hatte noch den USB-Debugging Modus aktiviert.

Mir geht's hier ähnlich: neuestes Update, aber das WLAN ist eine Katastrophe. Immerhin: es gibt regelmäßige Updates, auch wenn man nie so richtig weiß, was sie nun machen - vielleicht wird's ja noch

Das Surfen auf dem ProTab2 IPS geht mit der
Version 4.008 und dem "Dolphin Browser" wesentlich schneller und effektiver!

Ich kanns nur weiterempfehlen.

ich habe auch ein paar fragen:

1.hat jemand das update schon mit hilfe eines xp sp2 systems gemacht?

2.leuchtet im update modus die grüne led dauerhaft?

bei mir hat er nie ein unbekanntes gerät erkannt, sondern immer nur
-Modem auf High Definition Audio-Bus
-usb-gerät

es ist mir nie gelungen, den usb-treiber zu installieren.

ich habe auch ein Problem mit meinem Point of View Protab2 IPS

Nun komm ich in den Update Modus. Nun hab ich das Tag am Laptop angeschlossen und den Treiber installaiert soweit so gut. Wenn ich nun LiveSuit starte und denn das Tab mit dem PC verbinde passiert garnichts mehr bzw LiveSuit gibt keine Antwort solange ich nicht das Tab raus gezogen hab. Nun hab ich aber das Problem das das Tab auch nicht mehr startet bzw man nur den Startbildschirm von Point of View sieht und mehr passiert nich... Factory Reset und Wipe wurde alles schon gemacht und ergaben keine Besserung.

Hat jemand ne Idee wie ich weiter vorgehen kann??
