DarkElf v0.2 Features:

Based on the 20120607 official Ainol Elf II firmware Google Apps added SetupWizard starts on first startup Rooted default language is English, default location is US build.prop edit:

Device model set to Samsung Galaxy Note for Gameloft games compatibility

WiFi scan interval = 180

Sleep policy enabled

GPS enabled (the Elf II does not have internal GPS, this update is for external GPS device support only)

HDMI supports 480p output

Camera's pictures are stored on SD first

adb enabled by default

CPU modes set to: power saving=600MHz, normal=1200MHz, performance=1500MHz (official firmware had this lowered to 1320MHz)

How to install:

1. Copy the DarkElf_v0.2.zip to your SDcard
2. Power off the Elf II and remove the charger
3. Press and hold the Power button and the Volume-button at the same time. When the green droid appears you can release the buttons.
4. In the recovery you can move with the Volume-button, you can select with Power or Volume+
5. Select apply update from sdcard
6. Select DarkElf_v0.2.zip
7. Wait for the update to finish
8. Select reboot system now

For formatting the internalSD use Settings->format sdcard or recovery->wipe media partition, for formatting the microSD use a PC (card reader or connect the tablet via usb).

Ich habe das DarkElf V1.0 gestern doch gleich mal ausprobiert und noch ausgiebig getestet. Unterschiede im Handling bzw. Performance zum Aggro0626-B kann ich jetzt nicht feststellen.
Ein Vorteil des DarkElf gegenüber StockRom bzw. Aggro:
Die Micro-SD Karte wird als interner Speicher eingerichtet, der interne Speicher ist dann als extern geführt. Vorteil durch diese Umstellung: da beim internen Speicher des 8GB ELF2 im StockRom nur noch ca. 5 GB für Apps und Daten übrig bleiben, kann man nicht viele Spiele installieren, die noch große Datenpakete haben. Bei Fifa12 sind das z.B. ca. 1GB. Hat man eine Micro-SD mit 16GB oder 32 GB, sieht das dann beim DarkElf schon anders aus. Dieser Wechsel kann aber per Tool im Recovery auch wieder rückgängig gemacht werden, falls das einer nicht möchte.
Nachteile des DarkElf gegenüber Aggro0626-B:
-Das Aggro hat unten in der Statusleiste eine Prozentanzeige der Restkapazität des Akku`s. Das DarkElf nicht. Das kann aber bei Bedarf per Tool aus dem PlayStore kostenlos ergänzt werden.
-Die Bootanimation wurde ausgetauscht, wem das nicht gefällt kann diese aber auch wieder ersetzen.

Sind also nur minimale Nachteile, habe sie aber dennoch dokumentiert, falls es jemand interessiert.

Somit für Hardcore Gamer auf jedenfall die bessere Alternative, wer Aggro schon drauf hat und den Speicher nicht braucht, kann dabei bleiben.

Die Rom gefällt mir soweit ganz gut. Hab nur ein paar kleinere Problemchen.
Die Wlan Reichweite scheint nicht sehr gut zu sein. Neben meinem Netbook hat das Elf ein schlechteres Wlan Signal. Nach dem Aufwachen dauert es auch manchmal etwas länger bis die Verbindung hergestellt werden kann.
Außerdem hab ich ein Akku Problem. Sobald die Akku- Warnung kommt (15%) ist das Ding innerhalb von maximal 5 Minuten leer. Bis dahin hält der Akku aber recht lang finde ich. Wie lang hält bei euch der Akku? Z.B beim Spielen oder Filme schauen, im Ruhezustand verbraucht das ja so gut wie keinen Akku.
Insgesamt bin ich sehr zufrieden mit dem Elf II, bis auf die Tatsache, dass ein paar Spiele leider nicht laufen wollen, aber für 140€ kann man damit leben

Der schlechte WLAN Empfang soll angeblich an den Treibern liegen. Dieser soll bei einem update von Ainol aktualisiert werden. Mal sehen ob und wann das vonstatten geht.
Das mit dem Akku ist leider so. Am Anfang fällt die Anzeige langsam, zum Schluss relativ schnell. Am besten ab 20% eine Steckdose suchen.
