Frage: ein magisk update welches über/als ZIP installiert wird, muss ich da wipen bzw verliere ich dadurch Daten?

Du solltest nach dem Flashvorgang nur den Cache wipen. Das reicht völlig. Aber besser ist wenn du vor dem flashen ein Nandroid Backup machst. Nur für alle Fälle.
Daten verlierst du dadurch keine.

Moin, die Zip für das Magisk Update wird direkt nach dem Download installiert, danach ein Neustart machen. TWRP musste ich nicht nutzen um Magidk zu aktuallisieren.

Bisher noch nicht - werde es aber erst am Wochenende installieren können. Da ist es nämlich nicht so tragisch, weil ich zu Haus immer alles griffbereit habe (inkl. Notfall-Images, Strom und unlimitierten Internet). Unterwegs ist das doch etwas blöd, wenn man nur noch mit der Kies-Systemwiederherstellung weiterkommt und dann alles über Mobilfunk oder irgendeinen Public Hotspot sowie einer Powerbank machen darf...

Akku befüllen, ROM sowie Gapps herunterladen, komplettes Backup im Recovery machen und ab die Post.
Auf s4 habe ich es noch nicht, aber auf dem Alpha, s4 mini (beide dirty), s3 sowie seit eben auf s5 mini (clean nach stockromflash) läuft 5.8.4 sehr geschmeidig

Hallo,bin auch mal wieder da, und auch eine Frage. Ich hatte das cosmic Rom drauf und habe mir dann mal die RR 5.8.4 installiert.hat auch alles geklappt.Wollte mir jetzt mal 5.8.3 installieren, komme immer bis zur Kontowiederherstellung und dann kommt System-UI wurde beendet.Habe schon mindestens 4mal neu geflasht, immer das selbe..?? Cosmic Rom rauf geht.?? kann da einer was zu sagen?? m.f.g. Habe mir mal das CR Droid installiert und läuft auch.

Ich bekomme Magisk nicht richtig zum laufen. Öffne ich den Magisk Manager sehe ich nur, dass Magisk nicht installiert ist.

@Quadratball Lade dir diese 2 Sachen runter: tiny.cc/latestmagisk ( Bitte in die Adresszeile deines Browsers kopiren ) und https://github.com/topjohnwu/MagiskManager/releases/download/v5.1.1/MagiskManager-v5.1.1.apk

Das ist Magisk ( Wird per TWRP geflasht ) Ist in der RR aber schon vorhanden, also nicht nötig nochmals zu flashen.

Das zweite ist die Magisk Manager App als apk Datei ( diese MUSS als App sidelooad installiert werden.
( Hierzu unter Einstellungen - Sicherheit den Punkt " unbekannte Herkunft " antippen und bestätigen.
Dann mit dem Dateiexplorer die Magisk Manager.apk istallieren und dann Magisk starten.

Fertig... Viel Spass und Erfolg.

Habe dann SuperSU geflascht aber leider konnte Magisk trotzdem nicht installiert werden.

SuperSu gehört nicht hier hinein, wenn du Magisk möchtest:
SuperSu unroot, Magisk unroot, Magisk 13.3 neu installieren oder CleanInstall, wenn Magisk nicht funktioniert noch einmal Magisk unroot.zip und neu flashen, jeweils Cache/Dalvik löschen. Dann weitersehen.

Hallo, erst mal sorry das ich mich nur wegen einer Frage melde. Hab hier im Thread viel gesucht und im Original XDA Thread aber keine Lösung gefunden.
Hatte von euch schon jemand das Problem das nach der Installation von R30 (war vorher auf CM12) der interne Speicher anscheinend nicht richtig erkannt wird und die SD Karte komisch gemountet?
Grundsätzlich ist mir erst kein Problem aufgefallen bis ich versucht habe Apps aus dem Playstore zu installieren. Was leider nicht geht.
Ich kann zum Beispiel auch keine Dateien über den Browser runterladen. Oder Bilder die ich per Whatsapp empfange können nicht gespeichert werden.

Vielleicht hatte ja schon einer das Problem und hat eine Idee.
