though indeed debug.sf.hw controls some gpu accelerated features. actually android support partial gpu accelerated gui since at least froyo. but this feature was not on by default. hardware builders had to enable it and provide drivers that support this feature.
though in case of htc and the dhd this was the case since it release!

at least on a sense rom you can set it to debug.sf.hw=0 and see how it starts lagging.

so every dev who calim he enabled gpu accelrated gui rendering with debug.sf.hw is simply lying and fooling the users to show off on their changelog!
 
Könnte was dran sein. Einen wirklichen boost konnte ich durch hinzufügen des Eintrags nicht ausmachen.
Vielleicht funktioniert es auch nur, wenn man das bei Vollmond macht, während man mit dem Handy nackt auf einer Waldlichtung tanzt. Bei einigen build.prop tweaks denke ich, ist das wie mit Placebos.

Man "kennt" solche Registry Einträge auch unter Windows. Oft sind das Einträge die nur aus kompatibillitätsgründen vorhanden sind. Deren Wirkung ist aber gleich Null.

Vielleicht kommt da auch dieser "utopische" Wert bei CPU-float-point her...?

Habs ausprobiert, ergab bei mir keinen Unterschied, deswegen hab ich es auf "0" gelassen.
Merkwürdigerweise hatte ich nach Zurückstellen auf "0" ~10MB mehr freien RAM (dreimal getestet :blink:), kann mir aber kaum vorstellen das das was damit zutun hat ;-)
