Bricked Xoom: RSD Mode 2 Solution

Hello Guys,

I stayed silent the last couple of days because I bricked my Xoom Wifi US Version. I tried to relock the device because I did want to install the 3.1 update.

So as I went back to stock images and in the second last step relocked the device it got stock after a reboot. It showed 0x0000004 starting RSD Mode or if did hold volume down during startup starting fastboot support. Regardless of the mode, it wasnt recognized from my PC.

There was no solution to find to recover from that.

Solution:
-> Grab a cup of coffee
-> get a micro usb cable and soldering tools
-> open wikipedia page: Universal Serial Bus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
What you need to do is to solder a Motorola factory repair cable. On the Micro USB Port there is a unused pin (PIN 4) this pin needs to be connected to Pwr (usually the red USB wire). After that connect the Xoom with that cable and the Powercable plugged to your PC.
Then start fastboot and type fastboot unlock bootloader.
Thats it you finally resolved the Stuck in RSD Mode 0x000002 or 4 issue

Wenn ihr jemals das Xoom soweit gebricked habt das ihr es weder mit RSD Lite noch mit ADB ereichen könnt dann braucht ihr ein Motorola Factory Repair Kabel. Das lässt sich leicht herstellen, ein Micro USB Kabel öffnen und den PIN 4 auf PWR legen. Dann das Xoom an den PC anstecken (PWR auch anstecken). Dort wird das ganze dann wieder erkannt und man kann über fastboot unlock bootloader das Gerä wieder zum laufen bekommen!


So jetzt gehts erstmal wieder ans Flashen

Sollte dann etwa so aussehen. Mein Tipp, nehmt ein altes Samsung Kabel. Denn dort ist eine kleine Platine drin das lässt sich sehr leicht löten!
