Cyanogenmod 10 auf Basis von Android 4.1 angekündigt

Wäre es nicht besser lieber erst einmal eine 9er Stable fertig zu bekommen? Ich sehe ich schon kommen die ersten Versionen der Cyanogenmod 11 werden kommen und die 9er werden dann langsam erst stable...

Versteht mich nicht falsch, aber es wäre doch viel besser die vorhandenen Ressourchen erst einmal an einer Stelle zu nutzen bevor man andere Baustellen beginnt.

Es wird schon bald eine Stable von CM9 geben und dann wird das abgeschlossen sein. Für alle Geräte, wo jetzt CM9 läuft soll auch CM10 kommen. So das nur noch an CM7 und CM10 gearbeitet wird.
 
Es wurde gesagt, dass man die Sourcen noch nicht hat. Wenn man sie aber hat, wird es die Versionsnummer 10 bekommen. Analog der bisherigen Nummerierung nach der Position des Anfangsbuchstaben der Stock-ROM im Alphabet.

Eine Ankündigung ist das für mich nicht.

Naja die Grenze zwischen Ankündigung und Stellungnahme können ja fließend sein. Viele haben sich aber gefragt, wie es nun weitergeht, da die nächste Androidversion raus kommt und die vorherige noch nicht in eine finale CM-Version gebacken wurde.

Hier übrigens die originale Stellungnahme -- die Golem-Meldung ist furchtbar verschwurbelt geschrieben. Oder hier in schönerem Deutsch von einer Kollegin...
 
Wie schaut es überhaupt aus, sind für die 4.1 viele Anpassungen notwendig, oder sollte Cyanogenmod 10 schnell zu einem brauchbaren System kommen?

Ich denke es wird schon ein paar Wochen dauern, aber recht schnell sollte da der Wechsel von statten gehen..bei ICS hat es glaub ich gut 2-3 Monate gedauert? Bin mir nicht mehr sicher ;)
 
Jelly Bean Status Update

Repositories for all AOSP projects have been created on our github to alleviate any potential mismatches (branch is 'jellybean').

While Jelly Bean won't require a major rewrite of all the CM features, the source has been re-arranged and re-factored enough that a simple merge isn't possible. So we will proceed with manual merging (this was to be expected really).

The plan of attack will be to cherry-pick everything from CM9 and fix the merge conflicts and relocations. It’s tedious but the only way. Ideally the original patch authors will forward-port their changes, so if you are out there and want to help out, join us in #cyanogenmod-dev.

+ Trebuchet might be messy to rebase onto JB.
+ Theme Engine will be messy.
+ SystemUI stuff will need restyled.
+ Lockscreen stuff will need restyled.
+ The current UX of Settings is good, no reason to change anything there.

A manifest (Cyanogenmod/android.git) will be going up later this afternoon, so the masses will be able to sync directly from our source at that point as well.

This will be it on the updates (so we can focus on actually working). Next post referencing JB should be when the merge/cherry-pick process is complete.

Dear +CyanogenMod contributors...

First off: The CM10 tree isn't ready to be built. For all intents and purposes, there is no CM10 yet, so please do not tweet, post, or e-mail comments to the effect of "your tree is broken!". We know.

Also... while we appreciate the eagerness a lot of you are showing towards helping to bring CM to JellyBean, our current approach (as mentioned in previous posts by +CyanogenMod ) is to directly merge whatever repositories we can (and make sense) from CM9 on top of the AOSP JB source tree. A lot of them are already done, a few are pending, and if you want to help please considering doing whole project merges. Submitting individual (and in some cases, partial) ported-from-CM9 patches through the review system is, in most cases, ( and at this stage ) wasted work.

I'm pretty impressed to far with the work that's gone into the Android HAL in Jelly Bean. It looks like there is the beginning of versioning support, and the graphics HAL is on-par with what OEMs are needing. The new display drivers for Qualcomm devices on JB don't require any framework changes at all, they just work. In the past, there were dozens of patches to implement specific optimizations for their hardware. I suspect that the PDK may be working :)

Ja stimmt!! Ich hab noch bis 13 August zeit bis zum Urlaub, hoffe bis dorthin auf einigermassen stabile Nightlies!! Sonst bleibt im Urlaub noch CM9 drauf!

Meine Erfahrungen mit CM sind, folgende, das ist ein verbugter Sumpf, wenn man sich drauf verlassen will, also das das Telefon immer funktioniert, dann ist das nicht was man installieren sollte! Cm7 ist nicht mal fertig, dann fangen sie mit cm 10,....über cm9 wollen wir erst gar nicht sprechen
