Since Andy left his port i decided to start here a thread so people outside of Portugal could try my port for Galaxy S.
This is my effort to maintain Galaxy S updated and running the gorgeous rom ever.

Installation
From Another Rom
  1. Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
  2. Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
  3. Do a Nandroid backup!
  4. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
  5. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
  6. Reboot Recovery
  7. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
  8. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery

Update
  1. Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
  2. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
NOTES:
  • Do last step twice may help sometimes
  • Nandroids from different CWM versions are incompatible due to partition layout changes. Please be on the correct version before restoring Nandroids.
  • You can update inside the rom with the OTA Updates

Tips
  • Roms comes with Devil Kernel and with some default config /system/etc/init.d/51rtfpessoaSettings, if you want your own you need to remove the file and install a devil config app available in play store.

MIUI ROM 2.10.19 Preview Changelog (Week 111)


In recent weeks in order to prepare for a more stable system we have spent more time on improving stability of the entire MIUI system. So with that said, the next few weeks will not see much new functionality so please understand this.

Recommended updates this week:

1. New version of user feedback system
MIUI development team are always keen to get feedback from users. Often the forum is a great place to get feedback on bugs and other issues. We encourage users to start this week with using the feedback app, it can be found in the System Tools folder (by default). Cool new icons categorising issues such as System Reboots, Power consumption and more are added to make reporting of issues much easier.

2. New Online video streaming support
Updated this week, more like a Desktop application for streaming online video resources. With this function you can search and watch videos on the Internet, Yoku, YouTube and other popular sites. Watch TV Series, documentaries, and other cool videos. Be aware that streaming over your Mobile data connection will incur costs so it is better to use Wi-Fi for this function, also considerably less lag.

3. Contacts list page supports long operations
In the contact list page you can long-press a contact and quickly view, edit, delete or send the contact to the desktop as a shortcut item. Bulk delete also added, you can find this by opening the menu using your virtual or hardware menu key.

Further changes and updates will be posted on Friday as normal.

Ich habe mir die 2.10.18 installiert und bin überrascht, wie flüssig es läuft. Hier und da sind allerdings Hakler drin und zum Teil stürzen die Apps massenweise ab und es dauert einen Moment, bis sich das System wieder erholt hat. Ist der Sprung von der 2.10.18 zur 19 so groß, dass es sich lohnt, diese zu installieren?

Was ich momentan nicht so prickelnd finde ist, dass die BLN Funktion nicht so funtkioniert wie ich es gerne hätte. Statt einem durchgängigen Leuchten, blinkt sie nun und ich habe keine Ahnung, welche Einstellungen ich in BLN Control oder den jeweiligen Apps noch ändern könnte. Hat noch jemand dieses Problem?

Edit: Okay, man kann die BLN Funktion sogar noch in den Systemeinstellungen regeln. Sehr schön. Außerdem habe ich nun einfach die 2.10.19 über die 18 installiert. Bis jetzt gibt es keine Probleme und ich habe das Gefühl, diese läuft noch ein Stückchen flüssiger.
Hat noch jemand Probleme mit GMail? Ich habe mal die 4.2 Version installiert, aber die will nicht so richtig synchronisieren.

Edit2: Das mit GMail hat sich erledigt. Eine Sache die mich weiterhin stört: In der Statusleiste wird nur angezeigt, dasss irgendeine Benachrichtigung vorliegt (durch 3 Punkte). Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, dass mir angezeigt wird, ob nun eine WhatsApp Nachricht oder eine E-Mail eingegangen ist?

Außerdem: Die Tastatur dreht sich nicht in das Querformat, wenn ich das Handheld drehe. Bei WhatsApp tut es dies. Ist das normal bzw. kann man das ändern?

MIUI ROM 2.10.26 Preview Changelog (Week 112)



Recommended MIUI ROM updates
In recent weeks the MIUI team have been working to optimise existing functionality to make the version more stable. That said, MIUI team have not forgotten the tradition of pushing new ideas and functionality. This week has seen a lot of new features added carefully whilst not at the expense of improvements to performance and stability.

1. Contacts, new smart grouping and avatar default groups
Contact management has been a major problem in the Address Book UI design, faster classification of contacts to quickly find a specific contact. MIUI Contact app Group tab can now filter By: "Company", "location" or "contact frequency" smart grouping. This feature will help you find your contacts quicker and with more accuracy.

Intelligent Avatar, is 2.3 times better than the previous version. If the contact does not have avatar and is hard to identify, we have added support for text on avatars to help quickly identify the contact(s).

2. Contacts, improved full-text search functionality
If you have many contacts or simply forget the actual name but remember a key piece of information, for example the name of a hotel, company name or some other detail such as a nickname you can now search these terms using the contact search system.

3. Gallery, new photo editing functionality
The MIUI gallery finally has its own image optimization tools. Reduction of the need for third-party picture optimisation software makes MIUI Gallery a great alternative choice for editing your photos.

The use of the new functions has not changed considerably, you simply need to click on the Edit icon and you will be directly taken to the image editing options page. Select icon to the first icon in editing mode to see features such as Fish Eye, Doodle and Crop and Rotate. The icon to the right of this allows for other editing functions such as Red Eye reduction, Highlights, Contrast, Sharpness etc. You can quickly preview filters before saving your edited photos too. We will give you full changes for this new function on Friday.

4. Desktop, new task cleanup widget
Now you dont have to just long-press the Home key to open the task clean up system. You can add a new desktop widget which will allow you to quickly clear system memory for unused applications. This new widget will make management of system tasks more convenient.

5. Mms, new support added for sending SMS / MMS via network (Xiaomi account)
MMS and SMS are typically quite expensive to send depending on your mobile tariff. You can now send messages via the MIUI / Xiaomi network using your Wi-Fi connection. This will be great for people looking to make some savings when sending photos or small music files to friends and family.

Ich habe die 2.10.19 drauf. Der Updater sagt mir, ich hätte die neueste Version von MIUI installiert. Müsste er mir nicht eigentlich schon die 2.10.26 anbieten?

Schönen guten Abend…
Sicherlich warten seit einigen Stunden schon einige von euch auf die neuste Version von MIUI. Leider müssen Wir euch mitteilen, das es diese Woche keine Version von MIUI in deutsch anbieten werden. Dies wurde so entschieden, da wir massive Probleme in der aktuellsten Version haben und wir euch die neuste Version nicht unter die Nase reiben möchten.

Aufgrund von Änderungen am Theme Manager seitens Xiaomi, werden die wöchentlichen ROMs bis auf weiteres aus Protest ausgesetzt. Diese Änderungen machen es unmöglich Themes zu nutzen, die nicht aus dem MIUI Theme Manager geladen wurden. Benutzern ausserhalb von China ist es nicht möglich, ihre Themes in den Theme Manager zu laden. Daher ist eine Modifikation / Übersetzung von Themes und das hochladen in den MIUI Theme Manager nicht mehr möglich. Zudem wurden Themes eingeführt, für die man Mi-Credits bezahlen muss. Benutzer ausserhalb von China kommen nicht an diese Mi-Credits ran. Wer ein Theme benutzen möchte, welches nicht aus dem MIUI Theme Manager stammt und das Update auf 2.11.2 durchführt, wird in einem Boot Loop landen. Diese Änderungen sollen die Ersteller von MIUI Themes schützen und sie gleichzeitig in ein neues Bezahlsystem zu führen, wo wir alle ausserhalb von China ausgeschlossen sind.

Durch diese und weitere Anpassungen in dem chinesischen ROM, werden Uns zunehmend die Hände gebunden, so dass wir mit den aktuellen Versionen von MIUI immer weiter ausgegrenzt werden. Dieses Problem betrifft derzeit alle MIUI Fanseiten.

Wer sich selber in dieses Thema mit einbringen möchte und seinem Unmut über diese fortlaufenden Änderungen preisgeben möchte, kann sich im englischen MIUI Forum einfinden und es dort den Entwicklern und Administratoren mitteilen. Evtl. reagiert MIUI auf diesen nicht zumutbaren Zustand und ändert diese Dinge in Zukunft. Wir alleine als Fanseite, können nicht viel machen gegen diese massiven Änderungen bei MIUI. Da es zu grossen Problemen führen wird mit dieser neuen MIUI Version, haben wir uns bei MIUI-Germany dazu entschieden, keine neuen MIUI Versionen vorerst zu veröffentlichen. Da diese nur Probleme derzeit mit sich bringen und wir nicht die Möglichkeiten haben euch mit einer wirklich gut funktionierenden Version zu versorgen, stellen wir derzeit die Veröffentlichungen von MIUI Versionen ein.
Bis wir neue Informationen zu diesen Änderungen im MIUI ROM erhalten, werden Wir keine neuen MIUI Versionen in deutsch erstellen.

Dann lasse ich die 2.11 Version mal lieber außen vor. Kann ich denn die 2.10.26 einfach über die 2.10.19 drüber installieren?

Edit: Hat sich erledigt. Gestern abend noch hat der Updater dann auch bei mir die 2.10.26 gefunden und erfolgreich installiert. Dabei bleibe ich dannw ohl erstmal, bis sich herausstellt, wie es ab der 2.11. weitergeht.
