[Nexus 5X] Android 7.1 Developer Preview

Google hat gerade eben Android 7.1 offiziell bestätigt. Die erste Developer Preview soll noch im Oktober erscheinen und wird wie auch bei der Vorversion über Android Beta verfügbar sein. Die finale Version wird Anfang Dezember erscheinen. :)

Einen Changelog hat Google auch passend dazu veröffentlicht:

Android 7.1 delivers the productivity, security, and performance of Android 7.0, along with a variety of optimizations and bug fixes, features, and new APIs (API level 25).

For developers, Android 7.1 adds new capabilities to help you drive engagement in your app and deliver an improved user experience, such as:
  • App shortcuts API — lets you surface key actions directly in the launcher and take your users deep into your app instantly. You can create up to 5 shortcuts, either statically or dynamically.
  • Circular app icons support — lets you provide great-looking rounded icon resources that match the look of Pixel and other launchers.
  • Enhanced wallpaper metadata — lets you provide metadata about your wallpapers to any picker displaying the wallpapers as a preview. You can show existing metadata such as label, description, and author, as well as a new context URL and title to link to more information.
Android 7.1 also adds these much-requested developer features to the platform:
  • Image keyboard support — expands the types of content that users can enter from their keyboards, letting them express themselves through custom stickers, animated gifs, and more. Apps can tell the keyboard what types of content they accept, and keyboards can deliver all of the images and other content that they offer to the user. For broad compatibility, this API will also be available in the support library.
  • Storage manager Intent — lets an app take the user directly to a new Settings screen to clear unused files and free up storage space on the device.
For carriers and calling apps, the platform includes new APIs to support multi-endpoint calling and new telephony configuration options.

Hallo,

habe eben die Beta 7.1.1 per OTA angeboten bekommen, 1260 MB

Version: N-MR1 (NPF10C)
 
Funktioniert Root unter 7.1.1 ?
 
Ich habe es noch nicht installiert.
 
Läuft soweit ganz gut, kann noch keine Probleme feststellen.
 
Bei mir läuft es soweit auch ganz rund. Auch meine 3 "Problem-Apps" Horizon Go, SKY Go und Amazon Video laufen ohne Probleme.

Sehr schön ist, daß jetzt neben Ausschalten auch die Option Neu starten enthalten ist.

Bei mir läuft auch soweit alles.

Schade dass der Night Mode wieder entfernt wurde. :(
Mit dem "Night Mode Enabler" aus dem Play Store bekomme ich die Funlktion auch nicht in der Statusleiste angezeigt...

Dieser soll ja mit dem nächsten Update dann kommen, so wie ich gelesen habe :) Und bis dahin ist es ja nicht mehr allzu lange hin ;)

Und die Kamera App ruckelt beim Drehen nicht mehr. Darauf warte ich seit Jahren.[emoji3]
 
Hallo zusammen, kann jemand bestätigen, dass seit der Preview die "OK Google"-Erkennung mit der Option "Immer an" nicht mehr funktioniert?

"OK Google" funktioniert problemlos bzw. mal schauen ob es sich immer noch so oft aktiviert obwohl man normal redet...

Ansonsten läuft es rund. Die paar Apps, die das neue Menü unterstützen, gehen auch, aber für mich bis jetzt ziemlich sinnlose Funktion in der Praxis.

Wie bekomme ich die runden Icons mit Stock Launcher und ohne weitere Apps? Oder sind die noch exklusiv nur bei Pixel verfügbar?

Hab ich auch noch nicht rausgefunden. Selbst mit dem Pixel Launcher (7.1.1) sind die Icons nicht rund.

Evtl. dann mit der nächsten Preview?

Hab jetzt auch auf die 7.1.1 geupdatet, läuft soweit alles fehlerfrei.
 
Das Update belegt ca 4 GB mehr Speicher als 7.0
 
Also ich habe es per OTA runter geladen, und OK Google funktioniert ohne Probleme. Ich habe keinen Werksreset dieses Mal gemacht. Beim ersten Start meiner Apps dauerte es etwas länger bis sie offen war, jedoch danach funktionierte jede App ohne weitere Verzögerungen wie gewohnt.
