XOOM nur MTP?

Servus!

Wenn ich diesen Satz hier:

"Google switched to using the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) for USB storage, which isn’t natively supported under OS X"

..richtig interpretiere bietet das XOOM _nur_ mehr MTP und kein USB MASS STORAGE mehr, was mir die Freude unter GNU/Linux sehr verleiden würde...

Kann das jemand bestätigen bzw. wurde in einem Review das mir noch nicht unterkam dieser Punkt bestätigt/entkräftigt?

Habe darüber auch schon in einem amerikanischen forum gelesen! Das Problem ist auch das der Micro SD Slot noch nicht funktioniert! Für Honeycomb gibt es dann dafür ein eigenes Programm:
android filetransfer

Ich werde es dann mal testen, bin schon gespannt, wäre aber ein Rückschritt!

The Xoom, however, has lots of internal storage and, at the present time, no working microSD slot.
This is an issue because Android typically doesn't allow the user to mount the system's internal flash memory as a conventional mass storage device. You can't just plug the Xoom into a USB port to drag and drop your music onto the filesystem.
The Xoom uses the MTP protocol to expose the user-visible parts of the device's internal storage to a desktop computer. Was damit aber nicht beantwortet ist ob, wenn die MicroSD-Karte dann funktioniert, dort nicht einfach UMS benutzt werden kann.....hmmmm!


Bin schon auf die ersten Test nach dem SD-Kartenslotupdate gespannt!

Nachdem ja nun die ersten Xooms auf Android 3.1 oder gar 3.2 geflasht sind, möchte ich die Frage nochmal hervorholen:

Kann man nun (zumindest auf die SD-Karte) als normalen externen Datenträger zugreifen oder geht das immernoch nur mit MTP?!?
