Evolution X Rom [ Update: Stand 16.04.2024] - Android 14

Hallo zusammen und zwar hatte ich vor das Evolution X Rom für das Mi11 probehalber mal zu installieren. Das kann man entweder wie in deren Anleitung geschrieben mit den dementsprechenden fastboot Kommandos machen oder direkt in twrp.

Dazu müssen ein boot, ein vendor_boot und dtbo image vorab geflasht werden.

Die dementsprechenden Dateien gibt es hier:

So das sich ja hier keiner getraut hat das Rom mal zu installieren und darüber was zu berichten habe ich es heute mal gewagt. Und zwar habe ich die drei img einfach so geflasht ohne einen Haken bei Flash für beide Slots zu setzen. Dann die ZIP hinterher und anschließend Wipe Format Data und dann reboot System.

Während die drei images sauber durchgelaufen sind gab es bei der Installation der ZIP eine kurze Fehlermeldung ,die ich aber ignoriert habe und anschließend Wipe format data und dann das System rebootet habe.

Nach dem Neustart kam dann noch eine Fehlermeldung in der darauf hingewiesen wurde dass das Android System nicht geladen werden kann. Was ich dann mit factory data Reset bestätigt habe.

Anschließend startete dann das Evolution x Rom mit dem Einrichtungsassistent.

Jetzt werde ich mir das mal näher anschauen und später berichten.

Moin habe das Rom jetzt ein wenig getestet und will hier Mal etwas Infos dazu geben.
Also das Rom imitiert ein Google Pixel mit verschiedensten Einstellungsmöglichkeiten optischer Art. Und ja das funktioniert gut.
Auch Personen die eine Rom mit einer guten Akkulaufzeit suchen werden hier glücklich. Der Kernel scheint sehr sparsam zu sein. Das derzeitige Rom basiert auf Android 14 mit Sicherheitslevel vom Februar 2024 und ist dementsprechend aktuell. Lediglich die jetzige Kamera Version scheint noch sehr verbuggt zu sein. Der Absprung von der Kamera in die Foto App funktioniert nicht und ohne Umstellung sieht man hier auch nicht die aktuellen Bilder nachdem man diese aufgenommen hat. Darüber hinaus gibt es im videomodus 1080p 60 FPS starkes Bildrauschen und die Weitwinkelkamera macht dunklere Fotos als in der Realität. Diesbezüglich haben die Entwickler auch schon angekündigt die vorherige Kamera Version wieder in eins der nächsten Roms einzubauen da diese zuverlässiger lief.

Die ein oder anderen Nutzer berichten davon dass der Kernel nicht unbedingt für Spiele geeignet ist und es in diesem gut laggt und andere bemängeln das es Probleme mit Wallet gibt.

Ja genau, für den täglichen Einsatz ist das Rom nix. Aber man kann sich ja mal umschauen denn viel wird aus meiner Sicht mit den Mi11 nicht mehr passieren. Xiaomi hat zwar HyperOS angekündigt aber ob wir das auch wirklich hier in Europa dafür bekommen wird die Zeit zeigen.

--Update--

Habe heute mal etwas Zeit gehabt und die neuere Version mit Stand 03.03.2024 geflasht.
Mit diesem Update erhalten man nun eine Kamera die im Vergleich zur vorherigen Version nun funktioniert und der MIUI /Leica Kamera sehr ähnlich ist. Von daher ist die Rom nun alltagstauglich und bietet im Gegensatz zu der die Tage vorgestellten Pixel Experience Rom eine gefühlt bessere Akkulaufzeit.

Desweiteren hat man nun das Menü aufgeräumt und ein eigenen Menü Punkt integriert über der man nun die Rom spezifischen Einstellungen vornehmen kann.
Jetzt findet man sich besser zurecht und wird nicht gleich erschlagen von den ganzen Möglichkeiten die das Rom bietet.

Kleines aber nicht unwichtiges Update vom Entwickler. Auf XDA hatte er mitgeteilt dass er die Entwicklung vorerst einstellen muss da er sich in finanzieller Notlage befindet. Hat sich wohl verschuldet und seinen Job verloren. Jedoch kann oder könnte das Team die Arbeit fortsetzen wenn Sie wollen.

Alright. I don't know what else to say. I've worked on qpr2 from the moment it released until it booted. Took me almost a whole month. Between those dates, I've been trying to find a new workplace. Sad to say, I've yet to find any luck. I've been put into horrible debt due to the lack of funding since November and I probably have to sell both my Mi 11 and Mi 9T Pro when I get back home.

I'll also have to stop the project entirely this time. I really think it's unfair for the amount I've spent trying to satisfy each and everyone's wishes regarding features and fixes and everything in between, and I only get a fraction of thanks in return. I've worked on this for 5 years, and while I've received 3 phones, several hundreds of dollars and a lot of thanks from thousands of people I don't know, I really cannot manage to work on this project for free any further as it only adds more stress to an already burdening debt situation. To clarify, I'm not blaming the community for the lack of funding. What I meant to express is that I've tried to get through my situation previously without informing the community.

With all of this said, I am sad to say I will be stepping down from the project indefinitely until I get to sort out my financial situation. Unfortunately the donations the community has made the past 2 days aren't enough and some collection agencies have already given me some calls.

I'll hand over the project to Akito for the time being, while maintainers may still release their builds if they choose to do so. Thank you to everyone who has supported and helped me out and I hope the project continues to thrive while I try to turn my life around.

To further clarify, I'll be stopping code updates/changes/fixes, I will not stop any maintainers from releasing updates.

So der Entwickler hat jetzt sein vorerst letztes Update breitgestellt und folgendes dazu geschrieben:

April 2024 patch update is finally out. The ROM has been rebased entirely for A14 QPR2 so expect some features to be removed.

Use boot-ksu.img if you want root other than Magisk.

Appreciate everyone who supported and I wish you guys could help out once again after this update.

Hallo der Entwickler hat noch einen Hotfix ( Stand 11.04.2024) hinterher geschoben. Es wurden Hotfixes für Bluetooth und App Craches und weiteres hinzugefügt.

Und noch ein Update: ( Stand 16.04.2024)
Der Entwickler sagt dazu
Naja, ein ziemlich großes Update. Das Pixel-Framework wurde wieder importiert und Dinge wie der Extreme Battery Saver sind zurück. Auch die App-Lock-Unterstützung wurde wieder hinzugefügt. Das ist vielleicht mein letztes Update für eine Weile, also hoffe ich wirklich, dass jeder dabei helfen kann. Danke an alle. Wenn wir zurückkommen, wird es wahrscheinlich Evo X sein, das LineageOS als Basis verwendet.
