natuerlich... aber es werden trotzdem einige darauf bestehen das es ein deutsches forum ist und es deutsch gesprochen werden sollte. mir ist das wirklich sch... egal. ich bin wirklich froh das sich ueberhaupt jemand mitm milestone auseinander setzt und versucht c.roms darauf zum laufen zu bekommen.

I came to this forum to post this because this is the most active community I've found for milestone development. There are many english only people who come to this site using google translate because you have a great group of theme makers here. However if the language I use is going to be an issue than I'll post somewhere else.I meant no disrepect by posting in english here and I apologize for that. no, pls, u can post english when u want. its ok when u use google translate. it was only meant for those, who dont speak english. that was the reason why i asked u to post ur replys in english and german. i dont have a problem with that!

@esko1: Ich denke nicht das du bzw. andere hier etwas "Schuld" sind. Es ist doch so, dass die meisten hier die englischen Beiträge besser "verstehen" als die mit dem Google Translator übersetzten, wer der englischen Sprache nicht, bzw. nur begrenzt mächtig ist, benutzt diesen einfach. Wir sollten froh sein, dass sich auch MilestoneUser in anderen Ländern über Sachen wie Cusotm Roms Gedanken machen und uns um Hilfe bitten, oder?!

Wieso? Was xvilka macht ist doch was komplett anderes. Ich bezweifle das wir mit dieser methode, ein 100% custom rom laden werden koennen. Wie will er denn einen custom kernel laden?

Why? What xvilka is doing is completely different. I doubt that with this method, we will be able to load a 100% custom rom. How will he load a custom kernel?

wasn das für dummes gelaber hier.. wenn er net schreiben würde weils ja ein "deutsches" forum ist könntet ihrs nicht lesen und sonst auch niemand! und so verstehen wenigstens die es die in der lage sind n paar wörter englisch zu sprechen (wobei ich immer wieder verwundert bin wie wenige das sind...)

Alright, this starts with this simple warning:
You Could Break your device doing this!
DO NOT just try and flash the droid build, it won't work, and could break things.
This is the same with all android phones with custom builds.

Firstly, as I've mentioned before, this idea was first developed by Dext3r from the alldroid forums before they went down. Heavy credits to him!

Here's the basics of how this works,
1. copy mot_boot_mode to mot_boot_mode.bin
2. create a new mot_boot_mode as a script (like you guys already use)
3. the standard system boots and loads the moto init, which runs the mot_boot_mode which in turn;
creates a new ramdisk
moves some mounts and things
does a chroot to the new ramdisk
runs the init with the new init.rc

Using a Droid based CM build as a base you need to replace many lib's, binary files, and firmware files (for wireless etc)
Instead of doing a whole writeup on his process here's his post from his initial work, it needs to be adapted to work on the CM build, but it's pretty close.

Wie ich bereits erwähnte wurde diese Idee von dext3r aus dem alldroid forum entwickelt, bevor das forum geschlossen wurde.

hier sind die grundlegenden schritte wie man es zum laufen bringt.
