Wileyfox und Android Nougat

WileyFox hat bezüglich der CyanogenOS-Schließung ein Statement zum Android Nougat-Update veröffentlicht:

We are not commenting on behalf of Cyanogen. Our OS Strategy and Software plan moving forward will be complete soon. We have agreed a smooth transition where we will continue deliver constant and consistent software and OS updates. Our plan is to bring our entire Wileyfox portfolio onto Android N, the latest version of Google Android’s OS, in a timely manner – while still continuing to protect the range with Google software security updates. We will share our full and final plan in due time. Our statement for now is we are confident Wileyfox’s software will continue to evolve and stay pure to Android, enhanced to maximise our consumers’ user experience. Watch this space!

Man will also Android N auf das ganze Portfolio von Wileyfox bringen. Einen Termin nannte man aber nicht.

Es gibt Neuigkeiten zum Nougat-Update:

*Wileyfox news message* Just received from London about the developments of our upgrade to Android 7.1.1 Nougat. As it looks now, we will first upgrade the entire Swift 2 series within two weeks. Within 4-5 weeks following the upgrades for the Swift and the Storm. Spark & X + will receive the upgrade by the end of April.

All upgrades will be offered through the WiFi network. Make sure the battery is charged at least 50%, otherwise will be unable to start the upgrade. Important dates remain neatly on the devices, though we recommend to always have a backup of your important data.
All Wiley Features of Cyanogen OS will continue to exist in this upgrade.

In den nächsten zwei Wochen wird die komplette Swift 2-Serie auf Android 7.1.1 Nougat aktualisiert, später folgende dann Swift- und Storm-Modelle. Spark und X werden das Update Ende April bekommen.

Hm, ich habe auf meinem Swift 2 Plus bisher noch kein Update erhalten. Die zwei Wochen sind aber ganz schön lang...

Meins ist heute gekommen für mein swift 2+. Sind 1,4 GB und auf 7.1.1 wird upgedatet.

Update verlief ohne Probleme!

Bin zufrieden. Alles stabil und schnell nur der Akku ist nun schneller leer. Kann das jemand bestätigen?

Kann man die ständige Anzeige bzgl. des Updates irgendwo deaktivieren?

Wenn es nichts taugt dann möchte ich das nicht installieren.

Mir stürzt zwar der Browser seitdem ab, der ist nicht mehr nutzbar (Chrome geht) aber das stört mich nicht, surfe eh wenig. Smartphone ist eben kein PC mit Monitor.

Ansonsten kann ich keine Probleme mit dem alten Betriebssystem feststellen.

Hmm, bei einem meiner beiden Swifts, war das auch so, und zwar das mit Google Account. Auf einmal ging der nicht mehr. Ich habe ihn da deinstalliert und den Pyrope Browser, der Nachfolger von Gello, instaliert.
Aber warum der auf einmal nicht mehr ging wunderte mich sehr, das muss mit irgend einem Update von Google zusammenhängen.
