P10 EMUI 8 Galileo GPS Empfang?

wer kann bitte mal testen ob sein P10 mit EMUI 8
mit dieser App GPSTest hier GAlileo SAT angezeigt bekommt?
Mit meinem Handy ging es noch bis Mitte 2020(5-6 SAT). Habs von Herbst an immer wieder probiert und seitdem bekomme ich keine Galileos mehr angezeigt nur
die anderen.

Wie siehts mit EMUI 9 aus ?

Verwunderlich daß auch die 9er Version kein Galileo kann?
wurde das auch mit der obigen App getestet?
Viele GPS Apps können kein Galilo auswerten.

Diese neg. Bescheide verwundern mich jetzt schon....
Das P10 wird ausdrücklich als Galileo ready geführt.
Was ja auch anscheinend von der HW aus gesehen stimmt.
Ich hatte ja schon 2017 die ersten SAT mit GPStest empfangen.
Es wurden dann bis 2020 immer mehr 5-6 hatte ich immer.
Aber warum jetzt z.B. bei mir plötzlich der Empfang nicht mehr geht, ist ein Rätsel wohlgemerkt habe ich am P10 nichts an der
Firmw. etc verändert.
Muß sich da was an der GPS Signal Übertragnung seitens Galileo verändert haben?

Ich werde mal beim Entwickler der GPStest App nachfragen.

Ich bin mir eigentlich (ziemlich) sicher, dass ich mit GPS - Test schon Galileo - Satelliten angezeigt bekommen habe!

Galileo changed Signaltransmission ?

Smartphone:Huawei P10 Build Nr. VTR-L-09 8.0.0.386(C432) German/EU.

I had already received the first Galileo SAT with GPStest in 2018
Then there were more and more by 2020.

But why the reception suddenly no longer works with me, for example, is a mystery, mind you, I have nothing on the P10
Firmw. changed.
Has anything changed in Galileo's GPS signal transmission?
A change that the firmware of the P10 does not support?
I also noticed the loss of Galileo reception in a P10 forum approved.
give it an explanation for this ?

Unfortunately this is likely a bug in the Huawei P10 firmware - we've seen this on other devices, as I mention in this article:
Crowdsourcing GNSS capabilities of Android devices
Looks like records in the GPSTest Database only go back to 9.1.0.275C432 for the P10, and for that version and forward Galileo isn't listed as a supported GNSS:GPSTest Database
I'd recommend reporting the issue to Huawei, and hopefully they fix it. Please keep us posted!

but that does not explain why an already working older firmware (. VTR-L-09 8.0.0.386(C432) = Android 8) no longer works to receive Galileo.
Nothing has been changed in the smartphone software. No updates etc same Version of GPSTest.

So something must have changed on the Galileo side ? Any changes in the Protocol ?

Hmmm, that's strange. AFAIK nothing changed on the Galileo side. If a specific firmware version was working but now it's not, it could be that the assistance data for Galileo is somehow being interrupted from the source Huawei is pulling from?

You could try putting it into airplane mode, delete assist data (beware this is a destructive operation), and then reboot to try and force decoding of almanac and ephemeris over-the-air instead of using assistance data. AFAIK Android devices should all support autonomous GNSS these days.
