Was soll das?

Tschau moto...

"... It is Motorola's policy that customised ROMS are not supported on our products, ...."
Hei motorola... Did you wonder about if your policy is being loved by your users? Look @ this: Would you like to use custom roms on your motorola milestone?
For those who doesn't want to follow the link, here are the current stats :
- 68% of people would love to void their warranty if you allow them to load custom roms
- 23% wants custom roms but they prefer to not void their warranty
- 6% of people WOULD BUY A MILESTONE IF IT WAS MORE OPEN
- 3% of people love the milestone as is
This poll was voted by a total of about 1k people ..
This means that about 600 guys are not going to buy your next product moto ( translated in math : 600guys * 450 = 270k euros that you will lose )
Plus you could gain 6% more if you open this device ( translated in math: 60*450 = 27k euros you are CURRENTLY loosing )
Let assume the 10% of the people who would prefers to not void their warranty will not buy another phone from motorola than you'll have another loose of 10k
Since this poll is not yet finished i suppouse, with a little of statistical-projection, you are going to loose more money as the time goes..
Right now the balance, resulting form the math above, of your marketing and policy is:
- (10k + 270k + 27k) => you're loosing 307k euros . And this is going to be bad than my projections because of viral marketing.
I own androidiani.com which is the leading android website in italy. We have further 10k users per day and people trust me as they trust the staff of androidiani...
If we are going to say that motorola is not a safe buy for now ( and probably for the future ) then in all probability they are going to listen to us ( let say 90 % ) and through "WORD OF MOUTH MARKETING" they would probably spread our feelings about motorola to their friend ( since the user of androidiani.com are geeks and normal people listen to geeks ).
But i'm sure that i'm not the only one here that owns a blog, a website, or something on the internet so you are doing WELL ONLY ONE THING MOTOROLA:
BUILDING YOUR BRAND REPUTATION
But i suppouse your marketing people wouldn't be happy of the way you are building it.
