Pixel 7a Updates im Oktober - Android 14

Nicht wirklich Neuigkeiten, aber habe eben aus Jux und Dollerei mal die Google Play-Systemupdates aufgerufen (die schon einen Stand 1. August 2023 hatten).

• Konnte prompt neustarten.
• Nach dem Neustart wieder den Menüpunkt aufgerufen, Update von 1,5 MB wurde installiert.
• Konnte neustarten.

Weiterhin Stand 1. August 2023.

Hat wieder mal großen Spaß gemacht, joa da fragt man sich schon so bisschen, was ist denn los, was machen Sachen? Hm.

Diese Mini - Updates, Neustartaufforderung und nichts an Veränderungen sichtbar, hab ich hier nun schon zwei- oder dreimal so erlebt. Etwas seltsam das Ganze!
Wenn schon kein verändertes Datum sichtbar wird, so könnte man wenigstens über eine Info in diesem Update - Fenster für etwas mehr Transparenz oder Klarheit sorgen.

diese 'sinnlos' Updates fallen beim Otto-user garnicht auf, der startet alle Jahre mal neu.
Nur so freaks die den Update Button 50 mal pro Sekunde betätigen, merken es und sind genervt. ;p

Ob das Update August oder eventuell September bei den Play Systems ist, ist mir völlig egal. Wir können doch glücklich sein, dass wir auf den halbwegs neusten Stand sind.

Warum findet mein Telefon kein Update?
Die OTA-Updates werden z.T. erst nach 21 Uhr freigeschaltet.

Warum dauert das Update so lange?
Das Pixel hat zwei Partitionen, das Betriebssystem ist quasi doppelt im Speicher.
Wenn ein Update kommt, wird es auf die nicht verwendete Version aufgespielt.
Anschließend werden Apps/Einstellungen von der aktiven Version mit der bislang nicht verwendeten abgeglichen.
Schließlich wird der Cache aller Apps zurückgesetzt (Optimierung).
Wenn das alles erledigt ist, wird man zum Neustart aufgefordert.
Dabei wird dann auf die bislang nicht verwendete Version mit erfolgtem Update umgeschaltet.

Damit man das Telefon währenddessen weiter nutzen kann, passiert das alles im Hintergrund mit niedriger Priorität.
Deshalb dauert es, und deshalb ist es egal, ob das Update nur ein kB oder mehrere MB groß ist.
Denn nicht die Änderung dauert, sondern das danach.

Der Vorteil ist, läuft beim Update etwas schief, kann auf die Version vor dem Update umgeschaltet werden.

Tipp: Wenn ein Update kommt, Abends ans Netzteil, Update starten und am nächsten Morgen neu starten.

Warum ist der Google Play Sicherheitsstand nicht aktuell?
Das Google-Play-Systemupdate ist unabhängig vom monatlichen Pixel-Sicherheitsupdate.
Es ist also durchaus normal, wenn der Google Play Sicherheitsstand älter ist!

Ich habe es gerade installiert. Habe allerdings die manuell angestoßen. Ich Versuche es mal ohne Werkseinstellung ob es Schwierigkeiten gibt.
Update hat über 1Stunde gedauert.

Google Play Systemupdate

Hab ein Update mit 279 KB gehabt. Installation dauerte ca. 15 Minuten, kam nicht zum Ende... ich habe einfach neu gestartet.
Dann erneut gesucht, Update mit 4,8 (oder ,7?) MB gehabt. Die Installation läuft jetzt auch wieder seit 10 Minuten.

Hab ich - ohne zuvor diesen sehr informativen Beitrag gelesen zu haben - genauso gemacht und habe seit eben die 14er-Version drauf. Die Änderungen werde ich demnächst erkunden.

Nein, leider keine Verbesserung. Erkennt meinen Daumen immer noch nur bei jedem zweiten oder dritten Auflegen...

Der FPS ist nun wirklich schnell und nutzbar geworden.

Finde die Einstellungen zum Sperrbildschirm nett, also auch die 2 Extra-Buttons links und rechts unten, die man nun etwas anpassen kann.

Download hier 30 Minuten und Installation mit Neustart und ersten kleinen Anpassungen nochmal eine Stunde. 1.02 Gigabyte.

Mal schauen, ob ein Wechsel zum 8-er überhaupt lohnt, wenn der FPS nun tatsächlich besser zu funktionieren scheint.

Erst dachte ich auch der FPS läuft nun besser. Aber dann doch wieder nicht. Werde es mit neu anlernen versuchen, aber sonst ist leider langsam, nach nur 1 Monat in meinem Besitz, ein Gerätewechsel angesagt.

Edit: Mir scheint, dass der Sperrbildschirm nun sofort entsperrt mit FPS, bei Apps die den FPS anfordern ist es aber genau wie vorher, da wird nur jeder fünfte Versuch akzeptiert.

Die Erkennung ist tatsächlich besser als vorher. Und zwar um einiges.


Ansonsten lief das Update problemlos durch und das easterEgg hab ich auch schon komplettiert
Hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht ^^


Die Akkulaufzeit soll ja verbessert worden sein. Bin ich mal gespannt. Wobei ich bisher auch schon sehr gut mit dem 7a ausgekommen bin
