btw, i read your post and followed to xda-developers forum and I downloaded that app FasterFix.. And I also installed Busybox, as it was said in that forum.. So I run FasterFix, but the only result was that the screen turned black.. And nothing more.. I tried this both with GPS-option on and off..

Did this app worked on your T1?
And where did you find gps.conf??? I looked for it via Root Explorer manually and also through The Search Button. Nothing... Or this needs to be done from the PC via the USB-connection.. Don't think so, actually..

Hm finde auch keine gps.conf bei mir. Kannst du beschreiben wie du das gemacht hast, Espressojunkie?
Oder könnte man sogar die von dir erstellte Datei verwenden?

Bei mir hat das mit FasterGPS geklappt. Das schreibt auch eine gps.conf mit NTP-Server.

Danke ppq, das scheint ja easy zu sein wenn ich nichts selbst editieren muss. Hast du in den Advanced Settings noch etwas verändert?
Habe eben kurz getestet, da kam nach 2-3 Minuten dann dass 0/2 Satelliten fix sind.. Immerhin hat er wohl welche gefunden.

Werde es morgen nochmal draußen testen (war eben nur bei geöffnetem Dachfenster zu Gange).

.... I reinstalled FasterGPS and it worked. But actually I don't know weather it edited the existing GPS.conf file or created the new one. And what I have noticed, there are no values in the advanced settings option... Have you changed something there?

I used FasterGPS v.1.5

Yes, I was right. FasterGPS has just created that GPS.conf file in /etc folder. And there is only one string in this file, that defines the ntp server (for me I chose the Russian one).. The question is whether Cynus T1 will see this file and use it for GPS-module...

I hope that the system will see the file. Out-of-the-box I had this file, but it was empty. No string in it. So I used the "MTK MobileUncle Tools" and created a new one with the option "Power GPS Search" and the one that was created included the path to the chinese server.
Then I used "FasterGPS" and it changed the values into "de" for Germany.

Ok, and where is now this conf file located in your phone? In /etc or in /system/etc? And did it help (did you try to find your location without A-GPS and EPO?)?

The files (gps.conf & gps.conf.bak) are included in both directories.

With the same date of creation. This must have been done by the system, I never changed anything.

And: YES, i get a sat-fix without assistence.

BTW: Do you understand the agps_profiles_conf.xml? There are the profiles of Nokia, Google, ChinaMobile and Orange.fr in it. Ok, one custom profile, but with strange values.

Oh man, ich hab echt die Nase voll! Egal was ich auch für Tipps und Tricks von hier ausprobiert habe, bei bedecktem Himmel bekommt mein Cynus einfach keinen Satfix...
Ich komme gerade von Saturn, die verweigern glatt ihre Pflichten im Rahmen der Gewährleistung!
Meine mittlerweile drei Emails an den Support von Mobistel blieben unbeantwortet, nun habe ich da angerufen, ich soll das Gerät einschicken.

Was würdet Ihr tun?

I saw that file but haven't study it yet.. But I noticed that in A-GPS settings, there are only Google and Nokia servers available for choosing, no French nor Chinese

At least, if every try to fix this GPS problem doesn't help, an external Bluetooth GPS-receiver can help...perhaps some new software will need to be installed...

Huh.. having flooded this thread with numerous but useless posts, I nevertheless have fixed the gps problem - thanks to Espressojunkie

So the method with MTK MobileUncle Tools with Power GPS Search -> GPS SET and Faster GPS with its Choose continent and region really works) Thanks!

Hi, erstma danke Phunx deine Lösung hat bei mir geklappt jedoch nur in der nähe der Stadt. Alles außerhalb war kaum ein GPS da sprich dörfer etc.. Hoffe da wird was mit einer neuen FW kommen :O.

Ich habe bisher keine Probleme mit dem GPS. Wir haben zwei Cynüsse seit knapp 2 Wochen, beide mit silbernem Knopf, FW 0.8, und bei beiden funktioniert es, wie ich es mir vorstelle. Ich habe keinerlei Tricks angewandt, außer AGPS.

Nachdem ich die Anleitung von Phunkx befolgt habe, findet mein T1 auch endlich meinen Standort

Jetzt hab ich da mal eine Frage dazu:

Muß ich das jedes Mal machen wenn ich das GPS nutzen will?

Bei mir funktioniert das wunderbar. Aber beim nächsten Versuch findet das T1 wieder keinen Standort

Ich bastel nun auch schon geraume Zeit mit diesem grottenschlechten gps. Es braucht mindestens 10-15 minuten bis es da ist, und dann ist man immer noch oft neben der "Spur". Habs jetzt mit einer externen gps mouse "gelöst". Ist natürlich nicht so der Sinn der Sache.

muss noch dazu sagen, ich hab noch kein Gerät gerootet, und wills auch nicht. wie ist eigentlich das gps beim T2, hab hier aufs T1 geschrieben.

Hier wurde ja schon öfter erwähnt dass das T1 keinen Kompass hat. Wie wirkt sich das denn genau aus? Welche Funktionen kann man dann nicht nutzen?
