Google Pixel-Update – October 2025​

We have started to roll out the monthly software update for October 2025. All supported Pixel devices running Android 16 will receive these software updates starting today, and the rollout will continue over the next week in phases, depending on carrier and device. You will receive a notification once the system update is available for your device. We encourage you to check your Android version and update to receive the latest software.

Warum findet mein Telefon kein Update?
Die OTA-Updates werden z.T. erst später freigeschaltet.

Warum dauert das Update so lange?
Das Pixel hat zwei Partitionen, das Betriebssystem ist quasi doppelt im Speicher.
Wenn ein Update kommt, wird es auf die nicht verwendete Partition aufgespielt.
Anschließend werden Apps/Einstellungen von der aktiven Partition mit der bislang nicht verwendeten abgeglichen.
Schließlich wird der Cache aller Apps zurückgesetzt (Optimierung).
Wenn das alles erledigt ist, wird man zum Neustart aufgefordert.
Dabei wird dann auf die bislang nicht verwendete Partition mit erfolgtem Update umgeschaltet.

Damit man das Telefon währenddessen weiter nutzen kann, passiert das alles im Hintergrund mit niedriger Priorität.
Deshalb dauert es, und deshalb ist es egal, ob das Update nur ein kB oder mehrere MB groß ist.
Denn nicht die Änderung dauert, sondern das danach.

Der Vorteil ist, läuft beim Update etwas schief, kann auf die Version vor dem Update umgeschaltet werden.

Tipp: Wenn ein Update kommt, Abends ans Netzteil, Update starten und am nächsten Morgen neu starten.

Momentan arbeitet Google aber an der Update-Prozedur, damit die Updates schneller installiert werden.

Warum ist der Google Play Sicherheitsstand nicht aktuell?
Das Google-Play-Systemupdate ist unabhängig vom monatlichen Pixel-Sicherheitsupdate.
Es ist also durchaus normal, wenn der Google Play Sicherheitsstand älter ist!

Herzlichen Dank für den Hinweis.
Ich hoffe darauf, dass mit dem Update die 80% Ladegrenze wieder funktioniert. Ich werde das Update erst installieren, wenn ich lese, dass der Akku endgültig entfernt wurde.

Bei mir lädt das P7 seit dem letzten Play Systemupdate wieder auf 100%, denke mal, es liegt eher daran, als am normalen Update. Erklärt auch, warum (mir) das lange nicht aufgefallen ist ... das Play Systemupdate hat ja monatelang nicht funktioniert. Seitdem das wieder geht, lädt das P7 immer mind. einmal bis 100%. Nach dem letzten Play Systemupdate vor ein paar Tagen hing es schonmal den halben Tag am Ladekabel, es bleibt halt der Blitz und das Schild erscheint nicht neben der Prozentanzeige. Aber ist mir Wurscht, dann lädt es halt bis 100%.

Mal davon abgesehen, kann man eine Benachrichtigung aktivieren, wenn das Pixel vollgeladen ist? (mal abgesehen von Accu Battery)

Das es nach dem Update bis 100% lädt ist normal. Danach wird der Akku immer neu kalibriert und generell alle 2 Wochen wird das 1x gemacht.

@arghmage Dass das Schild allerdings nicht kommt ist nicht normal. Die Lösung ist (*außer bei @jringeis ) den Cache von der Systemapp "Device Health Services Adapter" zu löschen. Dann in den Einstellungen von 80% laden auf Adaptiv stellen > neu starten > wieder auf 80% Ladebegrenzung stellen und bis 100% laden > angesteckt lassen bis das Schild kommt (Dauer ca. 20-30min nach 100%).

Diese Kopfstände mit Cache löschen, in den Einstellungen rumspielen und neu starten mache ich nicht. Es funktioniert oder eben nicht. Meistens gibt es sich nach ein paar Ladevorgängen von selbst und wenn nicht ... gibt schlimmeres, als die 80%-Marke beim Akku

edit: grad das Oktoberupdate gemacht, während das P7 mit 100% am Ladekabel hing ... nach dem Neustart kam sofort das Schild ... warten hat also wiedermal geholfen
